Blackalicious

There is no other better way to get down than to listen to anything by Blackalicious. This song is taken from the album The Craft, which is very good, not as good as Blazing Arrow, but very good still. Like Gift of Gab? 100% chance you will like this.

What. A. Great. Band.

They released a free ep a year or so ago if I recall that played on repeat for me for a few weeks after. If I were you (which I am), I would get at this song, then hit up the myspace, then buy whatever music you can find.

Muxtape (Laptop Edition)

My laptop lives in a different world from my desktop. There are songs on here which are my favorites and some that I doubt I've even listened to. And seeing how it's 8:30 in the morning and I don't want to get out of bed, the laptop will be delivering the Muxtape.

Leave me comments about my muxtape and yours.

Hit the Lights

Oh pop-punk, how I am glad you are here to remind me of fun times. Hit the Lights might just be one of the best fun bands still left on our planet. If you enjoy catchy hooks and choruses, then their new cd 'Skip School, Star Fights' is for you.

Stream for a time being, the new album out today:

Explosions in the Sky

Any mention of music from Texas should I fall back to Explosions in the Sky. This band is fully instrumental and changed how I listen to music. And for you today I have a Jesu remix of the first song off All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone. Yes your ears are about to be happy.

Oh why not, this band also released to my knowledge, an album that didn't get a lot of press for free on their website. No idea how long they plan to keep it on their site so get it while you can.
Get it here:

Watch:

Homer Hiccolm and the Rocket Boys

These guys are friends of mine back in my college days. The play a gentle pop-indie style while maintaining wonderful hair. This is from their first release 'The South Plans EP' which is very old and honestly not as strong as what they are doing now. However, this song is still very catchy and fun to sing a long with.

I am giddy. SSDT has me linked on his page. It's like I am nominated for homecoming court.

Race the Sun

Here is a band that went away to soon. Regarded as a guilty pleasure by some critics was really about as much press attention as this band got. They are much more than that though, they show that music can be fun and upbeat all without being over simply or plain. I love these guys.

They are playing a reunion show June 6th. I wish I could be there for that.

Solo Tonight

The Faint

This is the band that introduced me to something more than pop-punk and hardcore bands. Simply just one of the most entertaining bands live and one of the most enjoyable to listen to. Just watch the videos for proof.
Also side note, punkrockvids was a site that hosted live/music videos from bands before the days of youtube. Oh the good ol days.

Does anyone know if these guys are working on anything new?
